Lukashenko vows to keep Belarusian-Russian relations friendly

MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – Russians have always been close people for Belarus, President Alexander Lukashenko said at the meeting with the members of the public, representatives of the Belarusian and foreign mass media on 3 February, BelTA informs.

“As long as I am president, Russians will see no insults from Belarus,” the head of state said.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, the current state of affairs in the Belarusian-Russian relations is a crucial issue. “This is a very serious topic. On the one hand, I am afraid of saying too much. On the other hand, the situation has already gotten to the point that I cannot conceal certain things,” the President noted.

The head of state underlined that his relations with Russia President Vladimir Putin are rather good even if they are not easy sometimes. However, Alexander Lukashenko said that there are different forces in Russia, including in the country's government. As a result, “certain issues are at odds with the opinion and resolutions of the president,” the Belarusian leader said.
