Lukashenko visiting Slavgorod District

SLAVGOROD DISTRICT, 13 July (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko is on a working trip to Slavgorod District, Mogilev Oblast, on 13 July, BelTA has learned.

During the visit the head of state will be briefed on the social and economic development of Mogilev Oblast and Slavgorod District in particular. The president will take part in a solemn ceremony to inaugurate a bridge across the Sozh River. The ceremony will be attended by representatives of the road construction companies taking part in the project and local residents. After that Aleksandr Lukashenko will tour a unique natural site called the Blue Spring.

The Sozh River divides Slavgorod District into two parts. Before the bridge was built, it was pretty hard for local residents and agricultural workers to get to the left bank of the river.

A temporary pantoon bridge was used from May till November. This bridge connected the P140 road Slavgorod-Krasnopolye. People living on the left bank of the river had to get to Slavgorod via Krasnopolye and Cherikov, covering 120km.
