Lukashenko urges to streamline personnel administration in Minsk Oblast

MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko urged the new Minsk Oblast governor to streamline personnel administration in the region at the meeting with senior officials of Minsk Oblast on 4 December, BelTA has learned.

According to the president, the main objective of the meeting is to determine pending tasks. “We will focus on the most urgent issues, which you will have to address under the leadership of the new governor,” he said.

The head of state said that personnel administration is one of the major issues in Minsk Oblast. The personnel reserve includes 209 people. Nevertheless, there are 47 unoccupied jobs in the oblast and district executive committees. Among them are positions of deputy chairmen of district executive committees – heads of departments of agriculture and food, senior executives of committees for economy, labor, employment and social security, departments of architecture and construction, education. “We can't expect any positive results if these positions are not occupied, can we? What for do you need these reserve? Thirty positions in agricultural and processing organizations – it can be even described as personnel mismanagement. For instance, what can we say about the performance of OAO Vileiski Raiagroservice which does not have a director since 2015?” Aleksandr Lukashenko wondered.

In his words, 12 directors have been fired for various reasons in 2019. Three of them occupied top positions in district administrations. On the whole, 69 high-ranking executives were fired in the past five years. “I would like the new governor to focus on existing problems and to do his best to streamline personnel administration. The region cannot perform well without smart executives. The economic development of the region directly depends on the efficiency of the administrative vertical,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
