Lukashenko to visit Staryye Dorogi District

STARYYE DOROGI DISTRICT, 16 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko will inspect Staryye Dorogi District, Minsk Oblast on 16 August, BelTA has learned.

The head of state is expected to start his working trip with the review of the harvesting and autumn sowing. The president has been keeping track of this matter for quite some time. The Belarusian leader will hear out respective reports during his tour to the Shapchitsy-Agro company. The head of state will discuss milk production in the company and the country in general.

In January-July 2019 milk output at Belarus' agricultural companies amounted to 4,166,900 tonnes or 99.9% as against the same period a year before. However in August the country managed to close the gap in gross milk production. The milk production leaders are Minsk Oblast and Brest Oblast.

Shapchitsy-Agro specializes in production of milk and meat and cultivation of grain crops. The company expects Br4.9 million in revenues from selling animal products in 2019 (its revenues stood at Br4.7 million in 2018) and profitability of its dairy business at 46.7%. The revenues from selling crops are expected at Br500,000 with profitability at 20%. The company has been working hard to improve cattle breeding technology. Since 2015 some Br3.9 million of investment has been injected in the company. The average monthly salary at the company stands at Br984.6 this year.

The Belarusian president will also visit Staryye Dorogi Experimental Forestry Company where he will discuss financial and economic standing of the organization and the country's forestry industry in general.

In 2018 companies affiliated with the Forestry Ministry exported $140.6 million worth of products. In 2018 Belarus did not export round timber, while in 2015 this commodity accounted for 51% of export. Belarus shipped timber products to more than 25 countries worldwide.

Woodworking plays an important part in the forestry industry. The Forestry Ministry has 88 woodworking companies under its umbrella. The output of woodworking industry products grows year to year.

Some 74 forestry companies of the Forestry Ministry run hunting business. In 2019 this business generated Br5,500,000 in revenues.

Aleksandr Lukashenko will also study the social and economic situation of Minsk Oblast, urban development prospects of Starye Dorogi and the district.
