Lukashenko to look into situation with linen industry soon

IVYE DISTRICT, 21 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko is going to take stock of the primary flax processing. He made this statement during his working trip to Ivye District, Grodno Oblast on 21 August, BelTA has learned.

According to Grodno Oblast Governor Vladimir Kravtsov, this year the flax has grown well, the yield has been nearly two times higher than in the previous year. “The region has two new plants that have undergone a major overhaul. These are the plants in Korelichi and the agro-town of Dvorets in Dyatlovo District. They can work in a three-shift mode,” he said.

“Let's make an arrangement. I need to tour Korelichi. I will also consider visiting Dyatlovo (linen mills) in order to examine the state of affairs with this crop. Flax pulling is nearing completion in Belarus. Put Korelichi and Dyatlovo on my schedule (the visit might take place somewhere in a week). I will go there to discuss primary flax processing,” the head of state said.
