Lukashenko to inspect southeastern part of Mogilev Oblast

KOSTYUKOVICHI DISTRICT, 14 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko will go on a working trip to Mogilev Oblast. The head of state will visit Kostyukovichi District where he will be updated on the development of the southeastern part of the region, BelTA has learned.

At first the president is to tour a trout farm and will hear out a report on the fishing industry in Belarus and Mogilev Oblast, as well as on social and economic development of the region.

After that a meeting to discuss social and economic issues of the southeastern part of Mogilev Oblast will take place in Kostyukovichi. In the focus will be implementation of Decree No. 235 as of 8 June 2015 and the earlier program of comprehensive social and economic development of this territory that includes Kostyukovichi District, Klimovichi District, Krasnopolie District, Krichev District, Slavgorod District, Cherikov District and Khotimsk District.

Over Br770 million of capital investment was channeled into the local economy and social sector in 2015-H1 2019. Over the same period of time the region raised $30.7 million of net foreign direct investment. In addition, a number of measures were undertaken to create comfortable living conditions for locals and draw qualified workforce, to create new jobs and start new production facilities, to give momentum to agriculture, trade, services sector and social field. The participants of the meeting will review the joint work of the government and local authorities and analyze issues that need additional consideration.
