Lukashenko to host Belarus' NOC meeting

MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – Belarus President, President of the National Olympic Committee Aleksandr Lukashenko is set to host the Olympic meeting of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus on 19 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The Olympic meeting will be attended by NOC members, chairpersons of boards of guardians of federations, unions, associations, heads of sport and tourism departments of the oblast executive committees and the Minsk City Hall, and Olympic centers.

The participants of the meeting are expected to review the performance of Belarusian athletes at the biggest international competitions and discuss the preparations for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.

A number of organizational issues are planned to be addressed during the meeting as well. They include the election of the first vice president and vice president of the NOC, the renewal of the composition of the NOC and its bodies. It is also expected that the participants of the meeting will take decisions on excluding from the NOC membership, on election of new and honorary members of the committee, on changes in the composition of the Audit Commission and the Executive Committee of the NOC. The participants of the meeting are also set to approve the report of the NOC Audit Commission for 2017-2018.
