Lukashenko: Sovereignty and independence are not for sale

MINSK, 10 July (BelTA) - Sovereignty and independence are not for sale, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with representatives of major mass media outlets in Minsk on 9 July, BelTA has learned.

“Yesterday I read a review which said, so did our friend Venediktov [the editor-in-chief of the Echo of Moscow radio station], that it is a question of price, and suggested offering Lukashenko a good price. Look, there's no price they can pay me to agree to their terms. There is no price! There are no pockets in a coffin. No matter how many billions you have, you will not need them in the afterlife. These are my beliefs, principles, ideology,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

“This is why they do not have to pay me anything. These things are not for sale. Sovereignty and independence are not for sale! We must remember that money comes and goes," the Belarusian leader added.
