Lukashenko sends Paratroopers' Day greetings to Belarusian solders, veterans

MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to soldiers and veterans of special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus as they celebrate Paratroopers' Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“You are the elite of the Belarusian army, for whom the defense of the Homeland is a profession and a purpose. We admire your ability to prevail in the most difficult circumstances, unparalleled courage and bravery that paratrooper displayed during the Great Patriotic War, in the mountains of Afghanistan, in other hot spots, your efforts to reaffirm the inviolability of the laws of paratroopers' brotherhood and the fairness of the legendary battle-tested motto ‘No one except us',” the message of greetings reads.

The head of state remarked that soldiers of special operations forces continue to promote glorious traditions of their predecessors and are doing their best to improve their combat skills. “Every one of you is famous for exemplary professionalism, strong spirit, courage, perseverance and readiness to fulfil even the most challenging tasks. Your families and friends are proud of you, you are the role model for people of the same age and youth,” the President stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed confidence that Belarusian soldiers will continue to maintain the glorious traditions of paratroopers and special operations forces, to protect national interests and to ensure peace and stability in the country.

The head of state also thanked veterans of special operations forces and former paratroopers for their patriotism, proactive position and contribution to the education of the young generation.
