Lukashenko sends New Year greetings to foreign leaders

MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has wished Happy New Year to foreign leaders, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

On behalf of the Belarusian president, the New Year wishes were sent to senior officials of the Russian Federation and leaders of the CIS countries, other heads of state across various parts of the world.

Aleksandr Lukashenko sent congratulatory greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian and Prime Minister of this country Nikol Pashinyan, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Moldova President Igor Dodon, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kyrgyzstan President Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili.

The New Year greetings were also sent to China's President Xi Jinping, Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen, Polish President Andrzej Duda, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel, France President Emmanuel Macron, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, USA President Donald Trump, Cuba President Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Raul Castro Ruz, Egypt President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Elizabeth II, the Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms, King of the Belgians Philippe, King Felipe VI of Spain.

In addition to that, Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Happy New Year to heads of international and regional organizations, including UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Vladimir Norov, OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger, President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach.

On behalf of the Belarusian leader, the New Year wishes were sent to religious figures and community leaders in the CIS and non-CIS states, including Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill and Pope Francis.

The Belarusian head of state also receives many New Year greetings from foreign leaders and heads of international organizations and other famous people. The greetings have already been received from the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, China, leaders of the Republic of Korea, Lebanon, Lithuania, Palestine, Poland, Germany, and the heads of government of Japan and Andorra. The Belarusian president received congratulations from senior officials of the UN and other international organizations, including the Union State, the EAEU and the CIS.
