Lukashenko sends greetings to staff of 86th signal brigade of Belarus' Armed Forces

MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the staff and veterans of the 86th signal brigade as it celebrates the 80th anniversary, BelTA earned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“You are the heirs of heroic combat traditions of the renowned 109th signal regiment which was deployed at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War – in August 1941. They took part in the Battle of Moscow, the Battle of Kursk, the liberation of Belarus and Poland. In recognition of their courage and bravery during the rough military years the brigade received the Order of the Red Banner and the Order of Alexander Nevsky. During the battles on the Belarusian soil the brigade also got the Volkovyssky honorary title,” the message of greetings reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked that the soldiers of the signal brigade demonstrate professional excellence in the resolution of responsible tasks to facilitate communications between command and military units of the Armed Forces. It is essential for the everyday life of the army and for the control of troops in any conditions. “That is how every one of you makes a big contribution to the enhancement of the military security of the state, the protection of its sovereignty and independence,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

He also thanked the soldiers for their service and wished them strong health, peace and well-being.
