Lukashenko sends birthday greetings to Patriarch Kirill

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended birthday greetings to Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The Russian Orthodox Church plays a crucial role in supporting Christian values, preserving the spiritual and cultural heritage of our peoples, which largely determines the common historical destiny of Belarus and Russia. Your noble pastoral service is an example of selfless educational activities that strengthen the traditions of humanism and mercy,” the message of greetings reads.

The head of state stressed that Patriarch Kirill, steadily defending the ideas of good and justice, has earned the high authority and trust of people and now continues to tirelessly care about the moral health of society, its spiritual renewal.

The president wished the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church strong health, prosperity and long fruitful years of life.
