Lukashenko responds to request to widen road to Belgips Plant

MINSK DISTRICT, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko promised Belgips Plant to support the proposal to widen the road from the Minsk Ring Road to the enterprise as he visited Belgips Plant on 27 March, BelTA has learned.

The staff of the enterprise told the head of state about problems they face when commuting to work using the road running from the Minsk Ring Road to the village of Novy Dvor. That road is narrow and has high accident rate, it is necessary to increase its capacity.

“I came here by this road, and this is not my first visit. The road is two-lane, narrow, and quite worn-out, apparently, traffic is busy here,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. “On my way here, I tried to figure out whether there is enough space for widening the road. There is. There will be no need to chop down trees, this is a downright no,” he added.

“Let's do this together, I will also get involved. Let's come together and think how to pull it off. We should widen the road and do this step by step,” the head of state stressed. “But if we are doing this, let's consider constructing a concrete road. It has already shown its worth,” he noted. Aleksandr Lukashenko pointed out that the ring road has a concrete section which boasts high quality.

“If we get things going quickly, we can make it by the end of the summer,” the president said.
