MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin offered to help Ukraine's former president Petro Poroshenko to rebuild Donbass, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in an interview with Dmitry Kiselyov, Director General of the Russian state news agency MIA Rossiya Segodnya, BelTA has learned.
“I said (and later I told Zelenskyy the same thing): Petro, the war is on your land, not on mine or Putin's. And everything must be done to stop this war. People are suffering,” the head of state said.
According to him, Vladimir Putin offered Petro Poroshenko help in rebuilding Donbass. “Putin told me about this directly. I emphasized this. And you know, Poroshenko finally agreed. But within a month he began to do everything the other way around. Why? Because the guy was under external control,” the president said.
