Lukashenko: Public security bodies play a crucial role in ensuring Belarus' independence

MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to workers of public security bodies as they celebrated their professional holiday on 19 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“You are one of the pillars of the state in ensuring the country's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Productive development of the country, accord and stability in the society largely depend on your everyday hard work to prevent foreign military and political pressure, international terrorism and extremism, corruption, economic crimes,” the message of greetings reads.

The head of state remarked that the State Security Committee has always been and will be fully committed to counteracting foreign intelligence efforts, protecting the constitutional order, and ensuring the reliable operation of government communications.

“We are proud of the veterans of public security bodies who demonstrated heroism and bravery in the most difficult periods of history to make an invaluable contribution to the Great Victory and to prevent the enslavement of the country. Today your team have the significant intellectual human, scientific and technological potential. I am convinced that being proactive, promptly responding to and neutralizing explicit and implicit threats to the national security, you will be a reliable shied for the Belarusian people and the Fatherland,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
