Lukashenko promises to use only Belarusian cosmetic products

MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko promised to use only Belarusian cosmetic products during the visit to the cosmetics company Vitex in Minsk on 27 September, BelTA has learned.

“I don't need any imported products. I promise that I will never use imported staff. Even if someone presents these products to me, I will give them as present to someone else. We need to use Belarusian products,” the head of state said.

He remarked that Belarusian cosmetics products are not better than Belarusian ones. “They are roughly the same. But these products are made from local raw materials,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.

The president was informed about the operations and development prospects of the enterprise and studied the companies' product assortment. He asked to present some of the products on display to all the women who accompanied him on the tour to the company and promised to pay for the souvenirs himself.

During the visit to the enterprise, Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to focus on the promotion of domestic and foreign sales of Belarusian cosmetic products. For example, these products can be widely used in hospitality business, a wider assortment can be available in retail networks. “There are problems. Take it under control and sort things out. These products should be available in all shops. Vitex has fewer problems – its export is quite big. But we also have enterprises which cannot sell enough products on the domestic market. This is a serious issue. I do not want to return to it once again,” the Belarusian leader concluded.
