BREST, 22 June (BelTA) – The private sector that honestly works for the benefit of the country and the nation will always enjoy support in Belarus. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement as he met with top Brest Oblast officials and executives in Brest on 22 June, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed: “We will always support the private sector that honestly works for the benefit of our country and the nation. It can count on us in this regard. It is my unyielding stance. I am not going to change it. And if some frauds brazenly break the law, try to live at the expense of someone else's stuff, private or public stuff, they will be prosecuted just like it's done in all the civilized countries.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that the fight against corruption will continue unabated as well. “It is rust that erodes everything. It is a direct road to maidan riots, not even a revolution. Our nation will not tolerate corruption manifestations and the emergence of oligarchs in our country,” he said.
The president stressed that Belarus is an example of fight against corruption for many people abroad. “They envy us,” he noted.
