Lukashenko praises Belarusian army's latest weapons

MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – The government and the defense industry are taking measures for the active rearmament of the Belarusian army. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement in his Address to the nation and the parliament on 31 March, BelTA has learned.

The head of state reminded that the Belarusian multiple-launch rocket system Polonez entered service with the Belarusian army several years ago. “I'd like the general public, including Belarusian public and the Western public, to know that Belarusian Polonez is as good and in many parameters better than the famous MLRS HIMARS that Ukrainians use today. An American weapon. These are not empty words. Specialists can confirm it,” he said.

The Belarusian side has also acquired an even more powerful missile system Iskander. “This weapon is unmatched in the world. A weapon capable of carrying nuclear warheads. Our refitted aircraft can also carry nuclear munitions. You heard what the Russian president said about the relevant infrastructure in Belarus' territory,” Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked.

“I am convinced these measures will give pause to overseas hawks and their satellites. We will make them reckon with our nation if they cannot understand another language, ” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
