Lukashenko pledges support to fish producers

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – The state is ready to provide financial support to fish producers, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he approved the appointment of local executives on 15 October, BelTA informs.

The head of state approved the appointment of chairman of the Dribin District Council of Deputies Dmitry Pimoshenko as chairman of the Mstislavl District Executive Committee. The president asked Dmitry Pimoshenko if he is familiar with the new region and what the main objectives for the local administration are. “The region can do better. This is a granary of Mogilev Oblast, and results can be much better there. It means that your region will always be in the spotlight,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The president recalled his requirement to explore new fields in agriculture. However, in his words, one should not forget about time-tested technologies and labor discipline. “We need economic results, first of all, we need revenues and money. And we can get it in Mstislavl,” the head of state is convinced. “You need to determine prospects and explore new fields.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko cited fish production, which is a very lucrative industry, as an example. “There is a big market. And good products. Why don't we work here? The state is ready to provide reasonable financing for such projects,” he said.

Anatoly Lukashov was appointed chairman of the Dubrovno District Executive Committee. At present he works as deputy chairman of Permanent Commission for Agrarian Policy of the House of Representatives.

According to the head of state, work in the parliament is a good experience for everybody. “At least you know what is going on at the high level. It will be useful for the district,” the president said.
