MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has taken part in the country's population census, the Belarus president's spokesperson Natalya Eismont told BelTA.
A BelTA correspondent asked the spokesperson whether Aleksandr Lukashenko participated in the census and whether he filled out the questionnaire himself or perhaps he did it with the help of a census taker. “There is no need to say how important this large-scale campaign is for the country's further development. The president certainly did not stay away from it. The head of state took part in the census, already last week. He filled out the census forms and handed them over to the Belarusian National Statistics Committee,” Natalya Eismont said.
She also answered a popular question about the language part. In particular, she was asked in what language the president filled out the questionnaire, and what language he indicated as his mother tongue. “It is easy: the president filled out the questionnaire in the Russian language and indicated Belarusian as his mother tongue (the first language learned at home in childhood),” the spokesperson said.More about President
