Lukashenko on his main principles: Never tell lies

MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke about the principles he lives by as he met with the workers of Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) on 29 May. One of them is to always tell the truth no matter how hard it can be, BelTA has learned.

“Tell everything you think. But you should know where to tell it not to offend anybody. Please don't offend anybody. You can criticize me, you can criticize others. But don't offend people personally. The second thing – never tell lies. Never,” the Belarusian leader said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked that in his early years as president some people sometimes told him: say something, and then we'll see. “I answered no, you will say one thing today and forget about it tomorrow. Then they will doubt that you've ever told the truth. This is my main principle – to tell the truth no matter how hard it can be. You will promise something (during the election campaign, for example), and people will be waiting for the promised thing… These are the two main principles of mine,” the president said.
