Lukashenko invites Turkey to unite efforts against new unprecedented challenges

MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko extended greetings to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the country celebrated Republic Day of Turkey on 29 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The head of state praised Turkey's dynamic development and its active role at the global and regional levels. “I am confident that Turkey will approach the centenary anniversary in 2023 with new great achievements in all the areas you have planned,” the message of greetings reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that Minsk attaches special importance to its relations with Ankara, which are based on traditions of friendship and mutual trust. “Sovereignty and independence are unchangeable priorities for Turkey, as well as for Belarus. In today's realities it is important to combine efforts to effectively confront the unprecedented challenges of the present time,” the Belarusian leader said.

The president expressed his conviction that the bilateral cooperation will grow stronger every year and add new accomplishments for the benefit of the peoples of both countries, including through the implementation of the agreements reached in Ankara in April 2019 during the official visit of the Belarusian head of state to Turkey.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Recep Tayyip Erdogan good health and further success in his responsible work and also peace and prosperity to the people of Turkey.
