Lukashenko arrives in St. Petersburg to meet with Putin

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has arrived in St. Petersburg on a working visit, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian head of state will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg on 13 July to discuss cooperation prospects in various fields and the international agenda.

According to the press service of the head of state, this visit is part of the established practice of regular personal meetings of the two leaders.

The Pul Pervogo Telegram channel specifies that Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin agreed on the forthcoming meeting during a phone conversation on 1 July.

The president's jet took off from the Bolbasovo aerodrome. This is an international commercial aerodrome located in the Multi-Modal Industrial and Logistics Complex Bremino-Orsha, 18km away from Orsha. The complex also accommodates Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant that was inspected by Aleksandr Lukashenko a month before.

The runway of the aerodrome has an international status. Now it can handle direct air cargo and passenger aircraft. The aerodrome is expected to become a major air cargo hub.
