Lukashenko: No one in Belarus will be allowed to solve problems by force

BREST, 22 June (BelTA) - In Belarus, no one will be allowed to solve problems, which should be solved peacefully, by force, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he spoke at an event held in Brest Fortress on 22 June to mark the Day of National Memory of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War, BelTA has learned.

“I have always told you: I will not allow anyone to use force in addressing issues that need to be solved peacefully, in a political manner, according to our laws. It will always be so,” stressed the Belarusian leader.

“If we had not clip the wings of those thieves during the years of our independence, we would have built an oligarchic state and be on our knees today. Look at it calmly and do not think that anyone is using it for political purposes. There is no need in Belarus to use something for political purposes,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The head of state also urged to protect the country and peace. “Do not give in to the tricks of three or four charlatans. They will use everything, batteries and factories [the battery factory in Brest, which construction is opposed by some citizens] and so on. If it is necessary, we will take this battery factory down, if it is the only problem here. But it is not, and I understand that. They are looking for an idea to lead you there. Remember that it cannot be done that way,” said the Belarusian leader.

“We will deal with the problems in our country ourselves. Brest is no stranger to me. This is my city, too. I spent the hardest years of my life here. You know what the army is. Take care of yourself, be calm, and do not worry. They have already put enough pressure on us with this coronapsychosis. The most important thing for us is not to let anyone get hold of our country during these times,” the president said.
