Lukashenko invites CIS leaders to attend 2nd European Games in Belarus

DUSHANBE, 28 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko invited foreign leaders to attend the 2nd European Games 2019 in Belarus during the CIS Heads of State Council meeting in Dushanbe on 28 September, BelTA has learned.

The head of state stressed that the opportunity to host such a big sport forum is a great honor for Belarus. “You know that Belarus actively supports and popularizes sport. We are convinced that it is an effective tool to strengthen trust and mutual understanding between nations,” the president noted.

Alexander Lukashenko invited the summit participants to attend the official opening and closing ceremonies of the games and expressed the hope that they would be able to attend competitions as well.

The 2nd European Games will take place in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019.
