MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated the Belarusian sambo team on successful performance at the 2018 World Sambo Championships, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“Displaying excellence in sport, strong character, patience and perseverance, you made the Belarusian sambo school very proud and showed a good example to athletes preparing for the 2019 European Games in Minsk,” the message of greetings reads.
The head of state congratulated Svetlana Timoshenko and Tatyana Matsko on defending their titles in respective weight categories.
The president also wished the athletes strong health and new victories.
