Lukashenko extends Constitution Day greetings to Belarusian people

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has extended greetings as the Belarusian people celebrate Constitution Day on 15 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

“The Basic Law of our country was passed 25 years ago. It opened a new page in the centuries-old history of the Belarusian people. This significant event helped many generations of Belarusians to fulfill their wish to be the true masters on their land, to be part of a free, fair and prosperous society,” the message reads.

Alexander Lukashenko stressed that the Constitution laid solid foundations of state sovereignty and political establishment of Belarus, set guarantees of the social rights of citizens, created conditions for preserving and multiplying the nation's historical, cultural and spiritual heritage.

"Relying on the ideas and principles of the Basic Law, the country has been rapidly developing, transforming its cities and villages, improving its people's well-being, and enhancing its prestige in the international arena. I am convinced that our young people, who are just entering into adulthood, will make a significant contribution to strengthening the independent Belarusian state,” the president said.

The head of state wished everyone peace, happiness and new accomplishments for the benefit of their Fatherland.
