Lukashenko extends anniversary greetings to customs service

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated senior executives, personnel and veterans of Belarus' customs service on the 30th anniversary of the service, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Over this period you have achieved a lot in building a reliable system to protect the economic sovereignty of the state,” the congratulation message reads.

The president addressed special words of gratitude to the veterans who laid a solid foundation for the effective work of the Belarusian customs service to suppress smuggling, illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and weapons, counterfeit and low-quality goods.

“As a result, today you have enough competencies and resources to successfully fulfill the tasks set by the government. At the same time, the increasingly complicated situation at our borders requires even greater dedication, responsibility and competence from each employee,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The head of state expressed confidence that the customs officers will continue to serve the Fatherland with honor and dignity effectively countering cross-border crime in order to boost the transit appeal and promote a favorable business climate in Belarus.

The president thanked the personnel and veterans of the customs service for their conscientious work, perseverance and loyalty to the oath, and also wished them good health, well-being, new professional achievements for the benefit of the country and the people.
