Lukashenko: Everyone is in Gomel waiting for Ukrainian delegation

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) - We are waiting. Everyone is in Gomel waiting. If they come then there will be negotiations, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told reporters after voting in the constitutional referendum in Minsk on 27 February, BelTA has learned.

"We're waiting. Everyone is in Gomel, waiting. If a Ukrainian delegation comes the negotiations will take place. If they do not, it will be their choice (as the Russian president told me)," the president said.

“Using layman's terms, I would advise them to get their act together and make a decision. Human life is more important," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.

There is no need to shift the responsibility or blame on the Belarusians, the head of state is convinced.

"The Americans, having drawn Ukraine into the war against Russia, want to solve the Belarusian issue at the same time. It won't work. We're not that stupid. In this operation our role is to have Russia's back (I said about this on the second day of the conflict), to make sure Russia is not stabbed in the back from the north and west. We will not allow this to happen," the president stated.
