BISHKEK, 9 December (BelTA) - The era of dollar dominance is coming to an end, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Bishkek on 9 December, BelTA has learned.
"We need to improve, at all costs, the blood circulatory system of our union. I'm talking about finances. It is already clear to everyone that the era of dollar dominance is coming to an end. The future belongs to trade blocs, settlements in which will be made in national currencies," the head of state said.
He noted that Belarus and Russia are no longer using the U.S. dollar in their main settlements. "It is important that other partners actively join this process," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
