Lukashenko: Discipline is crucial for companies' performance

ORSHA DISTRICT, 1 November (BelTA) - Companies' performance depends not on the form of ownership but on order and discipline, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during his visit to the dairy farm Ustensky in Orsha District on 30 October, BelTA has learned.

“Before deciding to give out agricultural land to farmers for privatization, we need to try to do something ourselves,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The head of state cited the example of the enterprise Ustye of the National Academy of Sciences. The enterprise owns the new dairy farm Ustensky.

In 2015 the president instructed to transfer the struggling production enterprise Ustye in Orsha District to the National Academy of Sciences. In the Soviet times the farm was one of the most advanced, but fell into disrepair over time. Today, the company is on its feet and its performance improves every year. The National Academy of Sciences supervises five such farms.

“They have done everything necessary,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

He is convinced that the performance of enterprises does not depend on the form of ownership. The president noted that private companies can simply lure away good specialists from state enterprises, who will help them improve performance. “Especially this pertains to industry. Did the private sector succeed there? No,” the head of state said.

“Where there is order, discipline, technology, there will be results. It does not matter whether it is private or state property. I am against neither this nor that. Everything should be done in a fair manner,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
