Lukashenko demands toughest action to end violence against women, children

MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – We should pull out all the stops to eliminate violence against women and children, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a large meeting with security, defense and law enforcement officials of the country on 21 March, BelTA has learned.

“Women and children continue to be victims of violence, including sexual abuse. It is necessary to step up efforts to protect them, as well as to prevent juvenile delinquency. Men, if we cannot protect our women, we are worthless! Do whatever it takes in this regard!” said the head of state.

“You know, we are not that much concerned about it, because this does not affect our wives or our daughters. God forbid, of course, but just sit down and imagine this happening. And after you picture it in your mind, you will know what to do. It must be eradicated from our society by the toughest methods. Like the fight against terrorism,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
