MINSK, 5 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko was made familiar with results of R&D efforts of Belarusian scientists in the area of development of electric transport on 5 May. The head of state spoke in positive terms about the results on the whole, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “I am impressed. Even very impressed. I didn't expect they would be able to accomplish all of that within such a short period of time.”
Yet according to the president it is too early to talk about serious, breakthrough accomplishments in the sphere of electric transport production. For now the head of state was only made familiar with how the scientists had accomplished the tasks he had given previously. “We will talk about results of their work more specifically later on,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. “In order to evaluate them properly, we will have to see whether they [Belarusian R&D products] live up to world standards and what prospects are available. I mean we are not making some toy, but a product that will have to sell and will have to earn foreign currency.”
