MINSK, 5 May (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the successful holding of the constitutional referendum, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The head of state noted the active position of the country's citizens and their exceptionally high confidence in the bill "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan". "The results of the referendum, which was open and well-organized in full compliance with national legislation, testify to the undeniable support of the people for your policy," the message reads. “I am convinced that on the basis of the will of the people, under your direct leadership, Uzbekistan will continue progressive work towards building a strong, independent and prosperous state."
The president reaffirmed commitment to expanding the multifaceted Belarusian-Uzbek cooperation that meets the common interests.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Shavkat Mirziyoyev good health, happiness and success in his work for the benefit of the Fatherland.
