MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) - Construction organizations with their own production facilities should be involved in housing construction in the first place, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he visited MAPID, Minsk Housing Construction Company, on 18 September, BelTA has learned.
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, there was a situation when state construction trusts with their own production facilities built housing on the order of private companies and the latter got most profits. “Trusts should not be commanded by private companies. The matter must be resolved before 1 January 2020,” the president said.
He added that both public and private construction companies, which have their own production base, should be involved in housing construction in the first place. “They should be loaded with projects on a first-priority basis. Otherwise, they need not have set up their production facilities,” the head of state said.
Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev reported to the head of state that work had already been done to find construction sites for large public real estate developers. “We are busy with developing networks. We are doing our best to load construction companies starting next year,” he said.
In his words, MAPID is more than 80% loaded. The makeover of the Efficient Industrial Structures Plant will be soon completed. Sites for future construction projects have been selected for the company. “These companies are self-sufficient. They have their own design organizations. They carry out the whole complex of works, implementing turn-key construction projects and using their own materials and workforce,” the Minsk mayor said.
The settlement of Solnechny in Minsk District was set as an example of comprehensive residential development. This object was handed over to MAPID, which also carried out design works. The construction works have already begun. A distinguishing feature of the project is that water supply and heating devices in all the houses of the residential complex will be electrical. The project implementation period is five years, but there are plans to finish it earlier.
The president emphasized that there are social facilities (hostels, a children's camp, a sports complex) on the balance of state real estate developers, including MAPID. These projects need to be preserved and developed.
