MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – Delegates of the Belarusian People's Congress, representatives in municipal councils of deputies and members of the parliament will be elected by the Belarusian nation instead of mythical OSCE observers. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement in his Address to the nation and the parliament on 31 March, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “During the referendum held in 2022 a majority of us voted for historical justice. The ancient Belarusian tradition of the rule of the people, which is realized in the contemporary history of the state as the Belarusian People's Congress, acquired constitutional status. Only the nation has the right to decide on its destiny. Under this motto we held the first assembly in the history of sovereign Belarus 27 years ago and it saved the country back then. Our assembly will hear voices of everyone starting with rural workers and ending with scientists. All the spheres, all the strata of the society and political views are represented there.”

“More than that: delegates of the Belarusian People's Congress, representatives in municipal councils of deputies and members of the parliament will be elected by the Belarusian nation and only by the Belarusian nation instead of mythical OSCE observers,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
