MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) – Belarus will always be a friendly country for China, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with outgoing Ambassador of China to Belarus Cui Qiming on 24 September, BelTA has learned.
“You will soon be in Beijing. I ask you to convey my warmest words of gratitude to my friend, president of China, for the support he has always provided and especially the one provided recently. He was the first to congratulate me on the victory at the presidential election, the same as all the biggest states on our planet did, except for the West. We have already got used to such attitude. Tell Xi Jinping that he has reliable friends in Belarus and that Belarus will always be a friendly country for China,” the head of state said.
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, the Chinese ambassador is aware of the situation in Belarus. “I would like you to report to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and my friend Xi Jinping on the situation which has been developing in our country,” he said.
The president emphasized the diplomat's great services to the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation. Over the years of Cui Qiming's work in Belarus the countries have significantly increased mutual trade.
The head of state thanked China for assistance provided to help in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The aid included 110 tonnes of medical supplies, two lines to produce protective face masks. “Today we can produce any number of face masks,” the president said.
“The main thing is that we have always been in contact with your medical specialists. They were the first to face the disease. They provided us with information on how to deal with the virus. You have done a lot for the organization of these processes. The order you have today [Aleksandr Lukashenko awarded Cui Qiming with the Order of Honor] is your personal contribution and, of course, Belarus' respect to Great China. I thank you for what you have done over this time. Please, remember that you are a friend of our country. Feel free to visit Belarus any time convenient for you. Please, come to Belarus any time, we will always be happy to see you here,” the head of state said.
