MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – Belarus has enough protective equipment and medicines, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting to discuss the epidemiological situation in the country on 3 May, BelTA has learned.
According to the head of state, the country has solved all the necessary issues, including those related to the safety of healthcare workers in hospitals. “We have provided all conditions for treating people. We have started to export protective equipment. I will say it openly – thumbs-up to our people. They do not wear face masks everywhere, only in public places, during shopping… At first, everybody rushed to drugstores, bought everything up, hence the shortage. Now there is no shortage anymore. We are exporting face masks,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “I am grateful to China, Xi Jinping for responding to my request. He sent us one production line, and then another one for face masks and respirators. Thanks to this, we will have entire enterprises,” the president added.
“The minister has reported that we have enough medicines and other products. Moreover, they are used in the most advanced methods of treatment,” the head of state said.
“Our doctors have learned to treat, by various means,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
