Lukashenko awards Belarusian art luminaries in 2018

MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has conferred For Spiritual Revival awards and special prizes to art luminaries. The head of state has signed corresponding decrees, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Four awards For Spiritual Revival have been bestowed upon groups of workers and representatives of religious associations for their humanitarian activities in 2018.

The award has been conferred on a group of authors including Yulia Bykova and Yevgeny Oleinik, authors of music and songs, for the efforts to promote the topic of the native land and create a cycle of patriotic songs.

The award has been bestowed upon representatives of the Biblical Commission of the Belarusian Orthodox Church and the section for the translation of liturgical texts and official documents of the Catholic Church of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments under the aegis of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Belarus for the translation from original languages and publication of the books of the New Testament in the Belarusian language. These efforts helped multiply the cultural legacy.

Workers of the Belarusian children's hospice will receive the prize For Spiritual Revival in recognition of their humanitarian activities, promotion of ideas of humanity and mercy, a big contribution to the development of the national system of children's palliative care, charity-funded construction and operation of a children's hospice in the village of Opytny, Minsk District.

The award will be also presented to workers of the care home for children with special needs in the village of Vesnovo in recognition of a big contribution to the promotion of moral traditions, ideas of humanity and mercy, organization of events to help people with disabilities.

Nine special prizes of the Belarusian president have been conferred on art luminaries in recognition of widely acclaimed significant achievements in professional art, folk and amateur art, patriotic education of creative youth, and charity.

The award has been conferred on the Academic Song and Dance Company of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus for outstanding achievements in music, implementation of the patriotic project Serving the Homeland in 2017-2018.

Workers of the Postavy territorial center of social security will receive a special prize of the president in recognition of a big contribution to the engagement of elderly and disabled people in amateur art, humanitarian activities and charity, preservation of regional and cultural traditions.

The award has been also bestowed upon the team of workers of the Belarusian State Choreography College in recognition of their achievements in the education of creative youth, a big contribution to the development of the national school of classical dance and implementation of charity projects Creative Youth for Native Belarus, Children for Children, And the Saved World Remembers.

Chief stage performer of the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater, People's Artist of Belarus Viktor Manayev will receive the award for professional prowess, significant achievements in theater art, portrayal of character roles in famous theater productions in 2017-2018.

The folk family ensemble Svayaki from the village of Yubileiny, Volkovysk District, will receive the award for the efforts to preserve, develop and promote Belarusian traditions of family amateur art, organization of the festival of creative family dynasties Svayaki Invite.

The award has been conferred on the team of authors of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus including Sergei Komadei, head of the department for the development and implementation of special projects of the main department for culture and social work of the FTUB Council, deputy head of the same department Yelena Golubeva, Chairperson of the Gantsevichi District Association of Trade Unions Natalya Kondratovich in recognition of significant achievements in popular music and organization of a cycle of patriotic concerts We Are Together! to mark the Year of Native Land in 2018.

The award has been conferred on a creative team of former young prisoners of fascism Fates for a big contribution to the preservation of the Great Patriotic War history, patriotic education of youth, participation in the No to Fascism! Childhood Without War! campaign.

The special prize of the president has been bestowed upon the folk band Nesvizhskiye Lozhkari in recognition of a big contribution to the promotion of music, esthetic education of the younger generation, organization of concerts.

Postgraduate student of the Belarusian State Economic University, Miss Belarus 2018 and Miss World Europe Maria Vasilevich will receive the award for a big contribution to the development of international cultural cooperation and charity activities.

Such decrees on presenting awards attest to the ongoing attention of the state to the creation of a healthy spiritual atmosphere in Belarus and the promotion of the Belarusian culture and art.
