Lukashenko approves appointment of new rectors in three universities

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has approved the appointment of new rectors in three universities of the country, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Bakhanovich, who until now worked as the rector of the Brest State Technical University, will be promoted. The president approved his appointment to the post of the first deputy education minister. The post of rector of this university will be taken by Sergei Kasperovich, who previously worked as the head of the main department of vocational education at the Education Ministry.

Aleksei Chukanov, who headed the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, will head the Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University.

By the decision of the president, First Vice Rector of the Grodno State Agrarian University Valentin Peshko will move up the career ladder and take up the post of rector.
