
MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko approved the appointment of deputy healthcare minister and director general of Belmedtekhnika as he made personnel decisions on 27 March, BelTA has learned.
Yuri Gorbich, who led the infectious diseases and children's infections department at the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, has been appointed Deputy Healthcare Minister.
Igor Demidenko has been approved by the president for the post of Director General of Belmedtekhnika company. In 2016-2022 Igor Demidenko served as First Deputy Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus.
Igor Demidenko assured that he knew the main problematic issues of the enterprise and that saw ways to solve them.
“A military man is a military man. Our situation is such that it is necessary to restore order everywhere, including in this area. I am very much interested to see that everything works well here,” the head of state said. “We have a lot of problems there. Well, most likely in the Healthcare Ministry. We will give a nudge to the Healthcare Ministry. We will give it a solid kick so that they could take a look at hospitals, district capitals, and rural health posts. And the oblast governors, naturally.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko reminded that upon his instructions an interagency working group had been established to check the effectiveness of operation of the healthcare system by focusing on provision of medical aid to the population. Reports are already flowing in. A sufficient number of problems have been unearthed.
