BARANOVICHI, 22 March (BelTA) – You need to popularize sports and a healthy lifestyle by a personal example, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with the authorities of the city of Baranovichi and Baranovichi District on 22 March, BelTA has learned.
“A governor must attend every match or every other match, be it ice hockey or football. You must encourage other people by attending different games. If we do not show an example, children will not be interested in sports,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The Belarusian leader wondered what sports administration officials do, but got no plausible answer. The president advised them then to walk several kilometers a day. “You think it is a joke, but, if you do not walk at least five kilometers a day, you will not live long. You may laugh, but this is very important for everyone,” the head of state said.
