MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed decree No.80 on individual matters of taxation. The decree has extended the duration of cryptocurrency-related taxation preferences till 1 January 2025, BelTA has learned. The current preferences were introduced by Digital Economy Development Ordinance No.8 of 21 December 2017.
Decree No.80 also provides for working out a concept by 1 July 2024 on further development of the sphere of digital tokens in Belarus.
The Digital Economy Development Ordinance stipulated that cryptocurrency mining, purchase and sale of tokens by natural persons are not considered entrepreneurship and the tokens do not have to be declared.
