Capabilities of Belarusian army underscored

MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian army meets all the modern requirements as well as tasks of the state policy. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement as he addressed the nation and the parliament on 19 April, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed: “The Belarusian army meets all the modern requirements as well as tasks of the state policy. It is capable of counteracting any threats.”

The head of state remarked that Belarus continues developing domestic production of special hardware and combat hardware. Accomplishments of the Belarusian defense industry include a multiple-launch rocket system, a new medium-range air defense missile system, solutions to fight flying drones, which are in demand in many foreign armies. Work to create anti-armor missile systems is nearing completion. The testing of strike drone systems has already begun. Army units are getting Belarus-made lightly armored vehicles for rapid response forces.

“But people represent the key component in the army organization. Belarus' peace and security depend on educated, highly professional, and dedicated military specialists. The Defense Ministry is supposed to enhance the prestige of army service, work out a system of preferences for army leavers, educate patriots, who will always be ready to take arms to protect interests of our country,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
