MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – Working mothers rights must be strictly protected in our country, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the Congress of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus on 28 February, BelTA has learned.
The head of state emphasized the need to protect working women's rights. “The demographic well-being of the state is in their hands. Families, mothers are sacred. Mothers' employment rights should be strictly protected!” the president stressed.
It is not in every country that women, having given birth to three or four children, can safely return to work. In Belarus, they have such an opportunity. “In Belarus parents with many children do not lose their job during maternity leaves. Moreover, parents who are off work caring for children have the time counted as part of their years of service,” the president said.
