Belarusian president plans to visit Uzbekistan in September

MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian president plans to go to Uzbekistan on an official visit in September, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said at a meeting with the parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nigmatilla Yuldoshev, BelTA has learned.

During the meeting Mikhail Myasnikovich touched upon the issues of improving the legal framework of bilateral relations. According to the speaker, work on its expansion should be intensified given the president's scheduled visit to Uzbekistan in September. “We actually worked through the key agreements which are to be submitted for the approval of the heads of state during the official visit of President Alexander Lukashenko to Uzbekistan. Tentatively the visit has been scheduled for 13-14 September,” Mikhail Myasnikovich noted.

Currently the parties are working on 11 draft agreements on cooperation in social affairs, economy, science and tourism.
