Belarusian government program on innovative development expanded

MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – Amendments and addenda to the government program on innovative development of Belarus in 2016-2020 have been authorized. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the relevant decree on 7 July, BelTA has learned.

The document adjusts the list of projects for setting up enterprises, which are crucial to Belarus' innovative development. The list now includes eight projects aimed at setting up enterprises to create a new generation of automobile components, ceramic products, modern technologies for light industry and food industry, woodworking. One of the projects provides for building a hybrid cardiac surgery wing in order to provide sophisticated medical aid for treating cardiovascular diseases.

Money of innovative funds will be used to finance projects in the area of mechanical engineering, healthcare, and agriculture.

The decree is supposed to contribute to the development of innovative activities in industries and regions. It will allow channeling the necessary resources into the establishment of sophisticated enterprises and into implementing socially-oriented projects.
