Belarusian deputy defense minister for armament, chief of armament appointed

MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Major-General Andrei Fedin has been appointed Deputy Defense Minister for Armament, Chief of Armament of Belarus' Armed Forces. At the same time Colonel Vitaly Shestak has been appointed First Deputy Chief of Armament of Belarus' Armed Forces, Chief of the Armament Staff in order to fill the position previously held by Andrei Fedin. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the relevant decrees on 28 March, BelTA has learned.

Upon the president's decision Major-General Sergei Simonenko has been relieved of his duties as the Deputy Defense Minister for Armament, Chief of Armament of Belarus' Armed Forces. Sergei Simonenko retired from military service due to illness. He retained the right to wear military uniform and rank insignia.
