Belarus president's team win Minsk Ski Race 2019

MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – The team of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko won the Minsk Ski Race 2019 on 9 February, BelTA has learned.

Apart from the Belarusian president, the team comprised Svetlana Konoshenko, four-time Olympic champion Darya Domracheva and Nikolai Lukashenko.

Silver went to the team of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee. Third was the team of the Council of Ministers. The Olimpik team comprising Belarus president's spokesperson Natalya Eismont finished fourth. The team also included Darya Shmanai, Pavel Bely and Dmitry Baskov.

“We had to cover a relatively small distance, but the working lap had some difficult parts which required maximum efforts from the skiers. There is great atmosphere here on the track. Many fans enjoyed watching the race and the target shooting,” Darya Domracheva said after the finish.

The event was followed by the women's 1.5K mass start, a relay race featuring representatives of law enforcement agencies and the 2.5K mass start for representatives of higher education establishments, ministries and departments.

More than 5,000 people took part in the Minsk Ski Race 2019.

The event was organized by the Sport and Tourism Ministry and the Minsk City Hall.
