Belarus president unhappy about cow welfare in Shklov District

SHKLOV DISTRICT, 26 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko went to the dairy complex Slizhi in Shklov District during his working trip to Mogilev Oblast on 26 March, BelTA has learned.

After going through several cow houses the head of state was extremely dissatisfied with the conditions the animals have to endure and with the lack of order in industrial premises. “If the person doesn't understand that it is a complete mess yet you put him in charge of the holding company [OOO Kupalovskoye], I don't understand you at all,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

“How long has the complex been open? Two years? It looks like ten years or so to me,” said Alexander Lukashenko. “Nobody ever cleans up the place properly.”

The vehicle depot of the agricultural enterprise was a mess as well. The head of state saw unused vehicles and machines in hangars, waste metal and spare parts all over the place as well as equipment in need of repair. “A genuine graveyard, including inside and outside,” Alexander Lukashenko stated.

Alexander Lukashenko instructed Chairman of the State Control Committee Leonid Anfimov to the check the enterprise. If essential elements of offences are detected, everyone guilty of failing to ensure proper business terms and labor discipline must be held responsible.
